Depression and Anxiety are on the rise globally. It is my mission to assist individuals in providing skills to reduce the intensity and frequency in which they are experienced. There is no one-size-fits-all treatment modality. I strive to work with individuals in a holistic manner to find the best fit while validating one's experience. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as Mindfulness techniques are a couple tools I utilize but not limited to.

Life transitions are significant changes that can be overwhelming, requiring effective coping strategies. Life transitions manifest in various forms, such as living independently, experiencing a divorce, getting married, becoming a parent, dealing with grief, health changes, career shifts, and graduating from school. Each transition brings its own set of challenges, requiring unique coping strategies. As your therapist, I help with teaching coping skills, providing supportive reflection, cognitive restructuring, and stress management.

Divorce involving a toxic or narcissistic individual takes the term, “high-conflict” to a level that few can comprehend. The training I received holds a unique lens to help clients see things from a variety of angles and perspectives so they are fully educated on the process. My knowledge helps guide clients to operate from a place of strategy versus emotion.
In addition to the high conflict divorce training certification, I have also complimented this with a coercive control training certification.
Coercive control refers to a pattern of controlling behaviors that create an unequal power dynamic in a relationship. These behaviors give the perpetrator power over their partner, making it difficult for them to leave. Sometimes, coercive control can escalate into physical abuse. However, even when it does not escalate, coercive control is a form of emotional abuse that can cause psychological trauma. Unfortunately, children are often weaponized in coercive control in high conflict divorces.
Post separation abuse is abuse that continues or escalates after a relationship has ended. 90% of coercive control victims report experiencing post separation abuse.
My training in these specialized areas can help women experiencing this in a safe place by offering validation, strategies, support and healing whereas most do not understand the complicated territory of these dynamics.

Conscious parenting is a child rearing philosophy that encourages parents to make mindful, emotionally intelligent decisions in raising their children. Parenting is the most rewarding and challenging job we will ever have. I believe that being a conscious parent is how we will begin to break generational patterns that are keeping us stuck. The conscious parent strives to be judgement free in all aspects of their child’s lives. Children should be cherished for who they are-not what they do. I see so many adults struggling because they were not seen, acknowledged and heard for who they are. My goal in teaching strategies of conscious parenting is to help build connection in parenting to reduce the pain and suffering I see too often in adults.
Namaste! I am Amanda
You will often find one of my 3 rescue dogs in session with me.
My ideal client is anyone that is seeking change and looking to create more balance in their life. My goal is to create a normalcy in the process of finding support during times when we need clarity. Whether or not there is an identified focus, I will walk individuals through gaining awareness and increasing skills to enhance life functioning through a client centered and empowerment focus.
I work with clients by combining cognitive behavior therapy with mindfulness practices. I work toward client building a strong sense of self and empowerment. I work with clients to build a strong sense of support and learning self awareness to recognize patterns. In this awareness, clients can then create new opportunities for growth to support their own authentic journey.
What clients gain by working with me is my ability to provide an unbiased perspective that offers individuals alternative ways of experiencing their situation.
Allowing clients a safe space to process and make connections, clients are able to disrupt the patterns they are stuck in and are not able to see otherwise.
I encourage individuals to connect with their authentic selves and provide tools to increase their confidence and intuitive skills to make these decisions for themselves
Education And Experience
My professional experiences include a large social service agency and the Alzheimer's Association, in addition to working in group practice providing psychotherapy.
I also have a working knowledge to include a holistic background by receiving specialty training from the Chicago College of Healing Arts.
I am a graduate of a High Conflict Divorce Coach Certification Program. It is an eight-week, intensive course that focuses on the difficult dynamics of high-conflict divorce and child custody battles. The program focuses on the intricacies of post separation abuse and coaches are trained that it only takes one toxic, abusive or personality disordered individual to create a high-conflict situation.
I am also a Certified Coercive Control Clinician.
To break generational patterns, it is imperative that we become self-aware and consciously do our work to focus on the self and heal the inner wounds that we all have. Working with me, we begin this critical work for healing and transformation.
